Parent and child interview#12
Hi what is your name and whose parent are you?
Suzanne - mum to Ben
How long has your child been skating?
What do you think about them skateboarding? Are you not worried they might hurt themselves?
Not worried. They have protective gear. It’s great to get them outside learning cool tricks.
What got your child into skateboarding?
He had a basic skateboard but wanted to learn tricks then I saw that Tic Tac skate school we’re starting lessons. Timing was perfect for Ben
Do you think it’s a positive pastime? Even with all the stigma surrounding skateboarding?
I was brought up with a skate boarding/BMX-ing brother so never really associated skateboarding with any negative stigma. I just see it as a cool thing to learn and the people (young and old) are always friendly and helpful
What do you think of Tom the Tic Tac Skate Coach? And how has his presence helped your child regarding skateboarding?
Tom is brilliant! Really great with the kids. You can tell he loves teaching and loves skating. He is inspirational, patient, caring and very motivating. Ben thinks he is really great.
Can you imagine not being around skateboarding you or your child now?
We hopefully have a skate park being built closer to our home so I can see Ben continuing to skate and get better over the coming years.
What do you think you could contribute to the Tic Tac skate school?
My photography skills
What valuable life skills do you think your child has learnt from skateboarding?
Encouraging those who need a bit of help. Respect for others, determination to keep practicing until you can do it
And finally, would you recommend skateboarding to anyone who has never tried
Yes I really would. Especially at Tic Tac Skate school
