Silver Surfer interview #1

Hi what is your name and how old are you?

Answer - Craig Smith, 45 years old

Tell us a little about yourself, what do you do, why have you started to skateboard and how long have you been skating?

Answer - I have a lovely family, I am married and have a daughter, I work in Software Pre-Sales which is great fun plus I get to travel lots however I wanted a hobby, something where I could have some me time. Skateboarding seemed like fun, the cost for equipment is reasonable but I had no clue as I had never skateboarded before. Then I saw TicTacSkateSchool Silver Surfers lessons and I haven't looked back. I have now been skating 2 months and my progress is remarkable 🙂 Plus I have a great set of new friends 🙂

How do you feel you fit into the skateboarding scene, have you been welcomed, are you comfortable heading Into a skatepark now?

Answer - Initially I felt nervous, "What right do I have being on the Skatepark with people who have been skating for 15 years and have awesome skills?". I have to say they couldn't have been more friendly and encouraging, every Skateboarder is happy to see other people Skateboarding no matter what your skill level.

How do your friends and family think about it? About you starting a crazy pastime at this stage of your life?

Answer - Initially I had a range of responses from "That's weird" to "That's fab". Now I think people are interested and supportive especially when they see the progress and the fact there is a specific Silver Surfers group.

Have you had any injuries since you started? And if so has it deterred you from skateboarding in anyway?

Answer - Yep, sprained foot, I couldn't skate for a couple of weeks but still went to the lessons, took some videos for the group, I couldn't wait to get back on my board.

How has skating changed yo
